“ This small place exudes incredible energy. The band is fantastic, and the bartender's service is always prompt and friendly. Enjoying very cold beers here will definitely enhance your night ”
“ My fourteen year young son was in the International Blues Challenge in the youth category. James played four different venues although this one was the smallest, it was his favourite! The sound quality in it was fantastic as this was recorded on my cell phone. ”
“ Rum Boogie Cafe and Blues Hall Juke Joint are essentially two bars joined by a metal door. Only the Rum boogie Cafe serves food (I believe). There may be a cover for one of the bars on any particular night, you if you paid the cover, you can go back and forth between the bars. If you didn’t pay a cover, you shouldn’t go back and forth. You’re almost guaranteed that one of the bars will have a great band playing. Good selection of beers and other drinks available. We saw the awesome Vince Johnson and the Plantation All-stars both nights we went to these bars – once on each side. The Blues Hall Juke Joint is smaller and the music seemed a bit more intense when we visited. ”
“ This was exactly the type of joint I was looking to hear down local, gritty and soulful blues in. Boy, did it deliver - I will be back as the talent and sound is ... ”
“ Lawd, Lawd y’all! We skipped into this place to avoid the rain during the Memphis St Patrick’s Day Parade. The bartender was like a dancer; she was the only one serving a 50’ length bar, about 10 tables and even a takeout window. I might have waited 5 minutes for a drink. She was something! The drinks were good and strong. After awhile the Bluff City Groove Band took the stage. The lease guitarist was an absolute pleasure to watch and bop along with. They played the blues and lots of covers and kept the patrons dancing and tipping all afternoon. The only downside of the place is that smoking is allowed. We stayed near the stage and a door up there, so it was t too bad and my clothes didn’t smell much like an ashtray. There is a door that leads to a sister bar next door wheee they have food available, a somewhat quieter atmosphere, no smoking and convenient bathrooms. The Juke Joint really isn’t accessible for the disabled, but the place next door definitely is. Get there, have a drink and enjoy the blues groove. ”
“ Had such an amazing time here. The drinks are a little too sweet but love the ambiance and vibe of this place. Not sure about the neighboring restaurant that this establishment is a part of but this establishment only had drinks and music. I'd definitely come back here. ”
“ Lots of fun in this place. Live music up close. Nice beer selection, excellent bar service! Please tip the performers... ”
“ Great blues spot with amazing music in dive like atmosphere. Definitely recommended if you’re on Beale Street in Memphis. ”
